To move forward,
you have to give back.

Melara Enterprises is grateful for the readers, clients and South Louisiana leadership who support our company through readership, advertising, sponsorships and more. And part of Our Way is to give back—encouraging our team to get involved in community leadership through nonprofits as well as investing in events, initiatives and causes that make our community stronger. Over the years, we have supported education, the arts, business organizations, health initiatives and more.

Melara Enterprises is instrumental in producing unique community celebrations that inspire and educate, recognize excellence and create long-lasting connections.

Power Breakfast

Melara Enterprises kicks off each new year with the Power Breakfast―a gathering of influential leaders that focuses on the top community issues for the coming year with a slate of newsmaker speakers.

Business Awards + Hall of Fame

The Business Awards were launched in 1984 to pay tribute to remarkable individuals and companies in the Capital Region and celebrate their many accomplishments. We later partnered with Junior Achievement to present the awards and added a Hall of Fame category to recognize those with a lifetime of achievement.

Influential women in business

We honor the incredible professional women in our community who have distinguished themselves in business or through government or nonprofit work and are making the Capital Region a better place to live, work and play. A dedicated edition of Business Report and a panel discussion at a celebratory event provide opportunities for the community to learn from the stories and experiences of those being recognized―and to make connections with other women of influence in the community.

Best of 225

This popular event gives the community an important voice in recognizing the people and culture that define the best of Baton Rouge. Readers nominate and vote for people, restaurants, retail, bars and clubs, and more. The results are unveiled at an exciting public celebration and in a dedicated edition of 225 Magazine.

Best places to work

Since 2014, we’ve been celebrating the best workplace experiences the community has to offer with Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge. The free awards program recognizes companies of workplace excellence that are known for their efforts to recruit and retain the best and brightest employees. Independent firm Workforce Research Group determines the selection and ranking. A dedicated issue of Business Report about the honorees and a panel discussion at a celebratory event in the fall with top performers provide opportunities for the sharing of best practices community wide. The experience also provides companies who participate with the opportunity to get insightful data reports on employee engagement.

top 100 private companies

Each year, Melara Enterprises puts the spotlight on the top-performing companies in the community based on revenue with the much-anticipated Top 100 Private Companies in the Capital Region edition of Business Report. At a luncheon celebrating those businesses, we also present the exclusive Louisiana Economic Outlook for the coming year, providing Baton Rouge companies with trends for the coming year from a noted Louisiana economist.

forty under 40

Recognizing the incredible young talent that the Baton Rouge community has, Melara Enterprises hosts an annual event to commend young professionals who have achieved success and excelled in their field before the age of 40. An issue of Business Report is devoted to the honorees and a high-energy celebration provides opportunities for them to connect with other noteworthy rising leaders in the community.

inregister weddings cocktail party

nRegister celebrates the release of its popular annual Weddings edition with a cocktail hour for brides-to-be. The upscale event shares creative inspiration for the big day and connects those planning for the milestone occasion with top wedding vendors in the community.

inregister best dressed issue celebration

inRegister is a longtime partner with the American Cancer Society, promoting its annual Baton Rouge Best Dressed Ball that tops $1 million in contributions for local and national cancer initiatives. Each year, the magazine publishes a cover story featuring the Best Dressed honorees and the stories they share about how they have been impacted by cancer. inRegister also hosts a private gathering for the honorees and other supporters to celebrate together and get a first glimpse at the Best Dressed issue.
